Tuna Salad Jar Meal

Oh you beloved tuna salad, we have taken you to another level with this Tuna Salad Jar Meal. Perfectly portable and ready to pack for that desk lunch or roadtrip, just bring a bowl. Seriously, so much goodness has been packed in this jar you will want to eat it every day.

Makes 2 – 1 quart Jar Meals

Tuna Salad Jar Meal

Ingredients for Tuna Salad

2 cans wild caught tuna (10oz)

2 tbls mayo

1 tsp dijon mustard

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp evoo

1/4 tsp cumin

S&P

Shake of Garlic & Onion granules

1 tbls capers

Other Ingredients

1 stalk celery sliced

5 inches cucumber cubed

10 kalamata olives pitted

1/3 cup red onion thinly sliced

1 avocado sliced – halved and tossed in lemon and s&p

2 tbls broccoli sprouts

2 tbls raw walnuts

10 crackers – Jilz Crakers or my Cheez Crackers

2 cups of romaine chopped

1/3 cup fresh parsley chopped

How To

The key to any good Jar Meal is to layer the hardier ingredients on the bottom and work your way up, always ending with the lettuce and anything else that wilts easy. Using an airtight glass jar is a must and will keep your meal fresh for days until you are ready to crack that seal and munch.

Make your tuna salad. Chop and slice all your ingredients. Grab your 2 qt glass jars and layer from bottom to top:

Tuna

Cucumber

Olives

Red Onion

Celery

Avocado

Lettuce

Sprouts

Parsley

Nuts

Crackers (add to jar before packing your meal to go, they wont stay crisp more than a day)

PRO tips: You can sub any lettuce here, use what you have on hand. Same with the raw nuts, raw pecans would be delish. Olives, same. You get the idea.
